Reuben will be at ASTD TechKnowledge 2010 in Las Vegas from Jan. 27 to 29 to present “Using Cloudbooks and the Semantic Web to Power Learning” – a one-hour session that will engage participants with demonstrations and discussions about emerging technologies such as nano-processors, Web 3.0 applications, and more. Reuben will look at how these technologies will support the evolution towards a semantic web and how this will affect learning and training development. The session aims to: - Show how to apply future trends of web technology to current learning design and development
- Explain the relationship between changes in hardware and changes in web-based applications
- Differentiate between learning as a Software As Service Model from current LMS implementations
- Apply design strategies used for a Library of Congress project to your own deign projects
To learn more,Click Here In March, Reuben will host two sessions at this year’s Learning Solutions Conference & Expo in Orlando from March 23 to 26. “How to Design Structured Interactivity for Improved Performance” is a session that will teach participants a method for assessing learning requirements based on generating performance results, and a method for structuring activities around these requirements. Participants will learn: - How to express performance objectives in a measurable way
- A new instructional design methodology for structuring interactive exercises and how to apply it
- How to ensure interactive exercises are properly matched to the desired performance results of a learning project
The next day, Mr. Tozman will present “Creating True Just-in-time Training”, where participants will get demonstrations of recent Web technology advances and a review of learning technology evolution moving from a talking-head model to distance education, to electronic distance education, to user-generated content, to Web 2.0, and finally to Web 3.0. Participants will learn: - The evolutionary trends in technology-based training
- Examples of how Web technology is changing • How new Web technology can support just-in-time learning
- How to apply current tools and technology to achieve just-in-time learning

MODSIM WORLD – which runs from June 8 to 11 in Montreal – is a multi-disciplinary conference and exposition for the exchange of modeling and simulation knowledge, research, and technology. Speakers, educational tracks, presentations, and product demonstrations will center on using modeling and simulation tools and practices to meet the challenges presented by the current workplace environment. Mr. Tozman's session will teach participants how web based technologies are evolving towards a semantic web and how this will affect learning and training development. It will explore trends in hardware as well as experimental technologies currently circulating in the web as a means of understanding the evolution of technology. Participants will learn what the semantic web is, what technologies are involved in the semantic web and the potential the semantic web has in the learning and training industry to revolutionize how we teach and train. Participants will see how this technology is being implemented in a U.S government agency as a means of serving k-12 teachers in creating lesson plans that involve a digital media library. This session unveils a new vision of technology based training in a networked, semantic web aimed at helping participants develop advanced strategies that they can implement in their own workplace.
